The Farm Herefordshire partnership is composed of twelve organisations
overseen by an elected Chair and a Co-ordinator.
Dr Louise Manning
Joint Chairman
Dr Louise Manning has over 40 years’ experience across the agri-food sector, combining consultancy, research, education and practical farming to inform strategy, policy and business development.
She was Professor of Sustainable Agri-food Systems at the University of Lincoln from 2022–2025, having previously held senior academic roles at the Royal Agricultural University and Harper Adams University. Her research spans sustainability, food security, food safety, governance and innovation, with more than 150 peer-reviewed publications.
Louise is Managing Director of LJM Associates Ltd and a director of her family farming business in Herefordshire. She also provides strategic support to businesses, charities and governments.
Louise brings extensive experience across farming, academia, industry and policy to her role as Joint Chairman of the Farm Herefordshire Partnership, which she took up in 2026.
Steve Klenk
Joint Chairman
Steve has worked as farm manager for a large estate of 1100acres in north Herefordshire. He has a long history of integrating trial work into the estate. This includes a shared AD plant enterprise exploring phosphate stripping technology; hosting one of the ADAS MOPS trials to identify methods for reducing soil erosion risk from potatoes; demonstrating best practice as a stewardship and cover crop mix demonstration site for Kings Crops. He’s hosted many walks and on-farm events for Farm Herefordshire covering a wide range of topics including cover crops, reducing cultivations, companion cropping and managing stewardship options.
AHDB
The Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board. A statutory levy board that facilitates knowledge transfer through their events and Monitor Farm network, commission of research and maintain an extensive knowledge library.
Herefordshire Council
Herefordshire Council is invested in supporting the establishment of best practices for a sustainable farming system working in harmony with the environment.
Herefordshire Wildlife Trust
Herefordshire Wildlife Trust work with others to restore nature to our rural and urban landscapes. Inspire people of all ages to discover, take action to defend the counties wildlife. Engaging with land managers through projects and consultancy services.
Pasture for Life
Pasture for Life are passionate about grazing animals on 100% pasture to bring positive impacts for biodiversity and carbon, human health and wellbeing, and animal health and welfare.
Working on the ground, every day, to restore ecosystems, implement positive change in our food and farming systems, and demonstrate the benefits of 100% pasture fed.

The Country Land and Business Association. Providing expertise on policy and links in to policy makers, industry leaders and the development of government schemes.
Herefordshire Meadows
Herefordshire Meadows is a charity supporting anyone keen to conserve, restore and create flower-rich grassland across Herefordshire. Passionate about sharing the many benefits of herb rich graslands with a wider audience of the county.
National Farmers Union
Providing expertise across all farming sectors, lobbying and campaigning at both national and local level on key issues for British farming. Committed to continued engagement in initiatives that find solutions to the challenges in Herefordshire including particular interest in the Wye catchment.
The Wye & Usk Foundation
WUF is concerned with ecology and more specifically, restoring the habitat, water quality and fisheries of the rivers Wye and Usk. We are the largest rivers’ trust in England and Wales in terms of output and a leader in our field.
A team of Catchment Advisors help and work with farmers to find beneficial systems for the farm business & the environment.
Environment Agency
A key funder in the establishment and development of Farm Herefordshire. Providing technical expertise on monitoring and data, insight into regulatory compliance and legislative requirements.
Herefordshire Rural Hub
Herefordshire Rural Hub are the host organisation for the FH Partnership, co-ordinating collaborative events and delivering projects to enhance the resilience of Herefordshire farming and rural businesses.
Natural England - Catchment Sensitive Farming
The Government’s advisors for the natural environment in England. To protect and restore natural habitats via CSF advisors to help farmers improve water and air quality, and reduce flooding risks to agricultural land.
Wye Valley National Landscape
The Wye Valley National Landscape is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, looked after by a small team working in partnership with other organisations to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Wye Valley.
To increase understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities and to foster the social and economic well-being of local communities.
